Meet Chloe Paterson

We are thrilled to welcome and properly introduce Chloe Paterson to our team. Chloe joins Solab as a Software Support Specialist playing a crucial role in progressing, developing and implementing our latest technology.

As part of her new role, Chloe works closely with the Onboard Tracker™ team to keep things running smoothly for clients and super users.

A couple of months into her new role, Chloe has taken the time to tell us all a bit more about herself.

What’s your career background?

My Career background has been varied as I have done different types of positions within different companies. I started off as an apprentice Office Administrator for an Offshore Team. I worked in a recruitment Agency as a Recruitment Administrator before moving to try my hand as an HR Administrator. Lastly, I worked at Bilfinger for 5 years, I was a Training & Competence Administrator for 4 and a half of those years before becoming a Project Coordinator for an Offshore Project team.

What were you most looking forward to in your new role?

The people were a huge draw for me joining Solab, so I was most looking forward to working with such an amazing team and learning a lot of things from them. Everyone is so knowledgeable but also so willing to take the time to help me understand the business and learn the ropes. I have only been here as part of the team for a few weeks, and I can already tell that I am going to really enjoy it here!

What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

The best piece of advice I have ever been given is a very simple one but it’s “Believe in Yourself”. You have to be your own biggest cheerleader and I think everyone should follow this advice in every aspect of their life! If you believe it, you will achieve it.

What has been your biggest challenge?

COVID was a huge challenge for all of us, but my biggest challenge over the last few years was planning my wedding during that uncertain period. It got pretty challenging as the rules were constantly changing meaning we were unsure how many people were allowed to attend, whether or not we had to wear masks or even if we were allowed to dance! However, my now husband and I were able to navigate these challenges with the help of friends and family to have the most beautiful day!

What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?

When I am not working, I enjoy all things musical including playing the guitar and going to as many concerts as I can! My husband and I also enjoy going on long country walks together. I also love spending time with my family and my three wonderful nephews. I am really looking forward to finally heading on my honeymoon after nearly two years of marriage, and we are going to America for two weeks in October.

When you were 5 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I was a very sporty child, so I did dream of winning an Olympic gold medal in gymnastics when I grew up. I used to do dancing, gymnastics and Trampolining and would also compete for the Northeast of Scotland until I got injured. I had also dreamed about either becoming a nurse or a nursery teacher, as I am a very caring, kind person and I like to look after people.
