If you haven’t heard about Onboard yet, you will soon! The finalists for the Oil & Gas UK Awards 2015 were announced yesterday and we are delighted to announce that Archer UK’s collaboration with Onboard has made the top three in the ‘Business Innovation – Large’ category.
Stephen Marcos Jones, Oil & Gas UK’s business development director, commented:
“We are delighted to announce the finalists for the Oil & Gas UK Awards – an event which brings our industry together to showcase the exceptional individuals and companies across Britain. Compiling the finalists was a tough job for our judges – and every company and individual announced today fought off some stiff competition. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all those companies and individuals that have shared their stories with us this Summer. Collaboration is crucial if we’re to fulfil Sir Ian Wood’s vision to maximise economic recovery from the UK Continental Shelf and that is why our new award, supported by the OGA, is a timely addition. In a world of a fallen oil price and high costs, we know that industry is facing a difficult time. However, we must still set aside an evening to celebrate those companies and individuals achieving excellence in their respective fields.”
Archer identified improving its data control as a business priority and to address this began working in collaboration with Solab, an Aberdeen IT services specialist, to implement an innovative online Advanced Competency Assessment and Verification system based on Onboard, an Oil & Gas crew, logistics, certification and competency platform.
“The benefits have been immense. Implementing the system transformed overnight the way the Archer operates and as a result it now saves an average of 6-8 weeks over its previous reporting processes.”
